Celebrating the healing power of the arts

Exhibitions
Katrina Kids Project, approximately 70 drawings and three hand-made quilts from children living in the Houston Astrodome post-Katrina.
New Orleans Kids Camera Project, photographs taken by the children of New Orleans of their post-Katrina environments.
Wear y'at post-Katrina T-shirt collection, a look at where New Orleanians are "at" post Katrina. This show was created by our people and our children, Metairie Park Country Day students, their messages of hope, anger, sadness, pride - inscribed on their personal billboards, their t-shirts.
Newer Orleans: A Shared Space - a shared exhibition with the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.
Also on view, Gina Phillips, Southern Tales. In this exhibition, the New Orleans-based artist creates figurative, shaped paintings from fabric, paint and stitching
Dance
Ocean of Light - commissioned work - a tribute to victims of Katrina and the Asian Tsunami.
Performance Art
New Orleans performance artists showcase post-Katrina work.
Music
ReBirth Brass Band
Honoring
The Medical Community, the Citizens of Houston and CNN journalist Anderson Cooper.
Special children's Workshop
Sessions with featured artists. $10 includes dinner. Ages 5-10. Register by calling (504) 528-3805.

Tickets: $5 for CAC Members and Seniors, $10 general admission.
