For ten years the CAC has coordinated this elegant, evening block party which celebrates the dynamic art scene in the Arts District of New Orleans. Up and down Julia Street (300-700 blocks) and throughout the District, locals and visitors alike experience great art, tempting eats, flowing libations and tunes.
The Block Party
From 6 - 9 PM, cash bars and cuisine are provided by Ketel One vodka, Ravenswood wines, Ben & Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream, Sun Ray Grill, Wolfe's in the Warehouse, Zoe Bistrot and more. Swing-style music is offered by Marc Dobriner Ensemble and New Orleans Jazz Vipers.
Admission to the block party is free.
At the CAC
At the CAC, doors open at 6 PM for the exhibition openings of Gina Phillips: Southern Tales in the First Floor Galleries and New Orleans Gumbo: Works by Children from the CAC Summer Art Camp in the 2nd floor Children's Art Gallery.
From 8 PM - 10 PM, gallery-goers can opt to perfect their Swing Dancing with professional
Swing Dance lessons and then practice their technique to Leif Pedersen's 1944 BIG BAND from 9 PM - 12 AM.
Cash bars and cuisine are provided by Nirvana Indian Cuisine and Damian's Catering throughout the CAC's party from 6 PM - 12 AM.
Admission: Free for CAC Members and Seniors, $10 general admission.
